About Me

I was still a young person myself when I was first hired to tutor an 8-year-old who was struggling to read. I thought my energy, creativity, and love of literacy would make it easy.

I was wrong.

I quickly learned that children (and their families) are diverse, complex, and changing. Whether at home, school, or in the community, supporting children's development is difficult. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to leading children to bright futures.

But science sure does help.

My Masters and PhD in Psychology allow me to combine power of research with in-depth knowledge of child development and disorder. This education, combined with over a decade of professional experience in diverse school and community settings, gives me a holistic, evidence-based perspective on the needs of children, and the ways systems must adapt to meet them.

For children's lives to change, we need to change. This drives my mission to empower caregivers and community leaders to harness psychological science to understand and meet the complex needs of today's young people.

I combine science with experience to make change in children's lives.
